VintageRally.net has come into possession of several record albums from the 1950s through the 1970s that contain the sounds of motorsports. The old record player has been dusted off and plugged in to a computer to create digital audio files. From those we have created a few CDs, with many of the scratches and clicks from the aging vinyl intact.
We also photographed the original covers, cleaned them up a bit with a photo program, and made suitable labels for the CD boxes.
We offer them now to you, the motorsports fan, so that you may share these audio pieces of motorsports history. A small fee is requested to cover our costs, and to help support this web site.

Though this was the first of the stereophonic recordings of Sebring, our copy is monophonic.

Grand Prix of the United States at Sebring - 1959
Our copy is pretty rough, so it will take a lot of cleanup.

Grand Prix of Gibraltar by Peter Ustinov.
A classic parody of the auto racing recordings, first released in 1962. Actor, author, humorist Peter Ustinov created an entire motorsports event without the aid of others. Ustinov did all of the voices and sound effects, even describing the course used for the "Grand Prix du Rock" (... and into the esses which are more like R's in shape ...). The voice characterizations are pretty close to some famous racing characters of the era: Bill Dill, driver of Riggs Willingham's Wildfowl; Commendatore Fanfani and his Paraguayan driver, Fandango; British driver Girling Foss; and German Walfram von Grips in the Schnorcedes.
This recording should be a part of every racing fan's collection!

Sounds Effects -
Daytona Speedway Sports Cars (Stereo)
Recorded during an SCCA Divisional race in about August, 1963. It is mostly the small-bore machines: F-, G- and H-Production; small sedans; G- and H-Modified; Formula Vee. Individual cars are not identified, though there is one unmistakable two-stroke engine, probably a SAAB.
The Driver's Meeting is also pretty interesting, as there is a question from one of the drivers as to whether the event has insurance coverage.
